چکیده
The construction industry is generally faced with so many challenges of which deterioration in concrete structures due to the Alkali-silica reaction (ASR) one pressing challenges. This causes expansion concrete, leading eventual cracking such structure and its subsequent failure. Research direction being geared towards obtaining properties pozzolanic recently discovered different biogenic pozzolans as bamboo leaf ash (BLA). BLA has been proven be acceptable terms compressive strength some other but few researches have carried out on effects ASR structures. research work focuses investigating through X-ray diffraction fluorescence analyses, effectiveness resisting or eliminating that may present concrete. Tests were performed bars soaked NaOH at a temperature 80oC determine potential reactivity aggregates ASR. In addition, workability strengths percentage levels determined after curing for 7, 28 56 days. findings show improves fresh however, it decline when compared conventional Also, no detrimental effect linear study recommends 5% partial replacement cement Bamboo will give effective performance used areas where not major priority.

Effect of Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) in Geopolymer Concrete Final
Alkali silica reaction (ASR) occurs due to chemical reaction between hydroxyl ions in the pore water within the concrete matrix and certain forms of silica. This reaction could lead to strength loss, cracking, volume expansion and potentially failure of the structure. This manuscript reports findings of an experimental investigation of the inter-particle bonding between the reactive aggregates ...

Considering the increasing demand for developing alternative construction materials, due to the growing environmental concerns, this paper discusses the feasibility of alkali activated geo-polymer concrete, as a future construction material. The main objective of this study involves observation of structural behaviours of the fresh fly ash-based geo-polymer concrete, understanding the basic mix...
متن کاملModeling Time-Dependent Behavior of Concrete Affected by Alkali Silica Reaction in Variable Environmental Conditions
Alkali Silica Reaction (ASR) is known to be a serious problem for concrete worldwide, especially in high humidity and high temperature regions. ASR is a slow process that develops over years to decades and it is influenced by changes in environmental and loading conditions of the structure. The problem becomes even more complicated if one recognizes that other phenomena like creep and shrinkage...
متن کاملRelationship between Degree of Deformation in Quartz and Silica Dissolution for the Development of Alkali-Silica Reaction in Concrete
This paper presents research on the influence of quartz deformation in aggregates for the development of the alkali-silica reaction in concrete and its relationship with silica dissolution. The study also compares these characteristics with the field behavior of such rocks in concrete. The paper proposes parameters to classify the different degrees of deformation of quartz. Transmission electro...
